The New York Times has called me “one of the most effective advocates of the view that regulatory changes since the 2008 crisis remain insufficient.”

An important part of my advocacy effort related to safety issues in banking was the book with Martin Hellwig (2013), The Bankers New Clothes, What’s Wrong with Banking and What to Do About it. The book website links to excerpts and more, mostly for 2013-2015.

Since 2010, my works and papers on financial regulation and fragility, mostly with my Stanford GSB coauthors, are organized by topic on this website.
