Arvind Krishnamurthy is John S. Osterweis Professor of Finance at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER).

Professor Krishnamurthy’s research interests include financial intermediation, debt markets, housing markets, financial crises, monetary policy, and financial regulation. He has studied international financial crises in emerging markets. He has also studied liquidity in U.S. debt markets and the role of the Federal Reserve during a liquidity crisis. Recently, Krishnamurthy has examined unconventional monetary policy, including the effects of quantitative easing on financial markets and the macroeconomy. He did his undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania and his doctoral work at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
